BASICS South West represents the Immediate Care Schemes in the South West Peninsula

BASICS South West was formed in March 2010 as an umbrella group for the immediate care schemes who work with South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
These schemes include SAVES (Somerset), PLIMS (Plymouth and surrounding area of South Devon) TACTICS (Remainder of Devon) and BASICS Cornwall. They are part of a larger network of immediate care schemes across the UK which operate under the umbrella of the national organisation BASICS
SAVES (Somerset Accident Voluntary Emergency Service) is one of the oldest immediate care schemes in the UK. It was founded in 1971, since when it has provided a network of specially trained volunteer doctors serving the county of Somerset.
PLIMS (Plymouth Locality Immediate Medical Support) doctors have been responding to serious trauma and medical emergencies for over twenty years.
Our members are drawn from the fields of Primary Care and Emergency Medicine. We cover a diverse urban and rural area which includes Plymouth,
SW Devon and SE Cornwall.
BASICS Cornwall aims to bring high-quality, advanced emergency care to the people of Cornwall. Our members are all volunteer Doctors - GPs, Anaesthetists and Emerergency Department physicians. We collaborate on audit, training and education within the group and with our colleagues in the Ambulance Service.
Provides services in North and East Devon.
